The running shoe, has come a long way, in the past few years.  Without giving away too much about my age, I can remember a time when running shoes were really just plain old running shoes, and anyone who played a sport, used pretty much the same shoe.  Considering the hundreds of variations of shoes now available, it’s mind boggling.  While, it’s true their not just for sports anymore, running shoes can also be considered fashion statements.  Take the Nike Dunks for example.  This is a shoe that’s incredible to look at and wear.  Nike Dunks are popular with a lot of the kids, and have all the components that are traditional of the Nike brand.  Good quality, and superior materials make for a shoe that’s well worth the money.  When I say that they can be fashionable, I don’t mean in a louis vuitton bags kind of fashionable.  I mean something the kids will like to wear to all kinds of places.  They look good on the basketball court, and the prom if need be.  I remember a television commercial for Nike shoes a few years back, where the teenage daughter was looking for her pink high tops.  The mom overhearing the comment, sarcastically commented, that “Oh it must be prom night”.  I guess things haven’t really changed that much for shoes over the years after all.
